Seedsman’s OG Kush is a slightly Indica-dominant strain derived from Chemdawg x (Lemon Thai x Hindu Kush) genetics. Known as the genetic backbone of many famous West Coast strains, including Girl Scout Cookies, Headband, Larry OG, Purple Kush, and Gelato #41, OG Kush has earned its celebrated reputation over the past three decades.
This strain can be challenging to cultivate due to its sensitivity to light changes, nutrient shifts, and susceptibility to pests. It performs well indoors but requires dry outdoor conditions. A tall-growing variety, OG Kush is ideal for growers with prior experience. Indoors, it flowers within 8–10 weeks, yielding high amounts with careful humidity management. Outdoors or in greenhouses, it thrives in warm to hot climates with low humidity, with northern hemisphere harvests ready by October. The buds are vibrant green with long orange pistils and a frosty coating of trichomes.
Dominant terpenes include beta-myrcene, beta-caryophyllene, and limonene, giving OG Kush its distinctive earthy, pine, fuel, and citrus aroma and flavour. With THC levels around 23% and low CBD, the effect is uplifting, relaxing, and appetite-stimulating, often leading to a restful sleep. This strain is also valued for its therapeutic properties, including anxiety and stress relief and appetite stimulation.
